We have just returned from our first ever horsey holiday
with our two very special ex racehorses who are 17 and
19yrs. All I can say is why didn't We do it sooner.....
Pilton Moor was amazing from the moment we arrived. We were
greated by Jo who showed us around and once the horses were
settled in their stables even took us out in her car and
drove us around showing us the various horse friendly
routes.
We stayed in the Cwtch shepherds hut with breakfast which
arrived in a wicker basket both mornings with cereal, milk,
cereal bars, fruit and pain au chocolates. The view was
amazing over the horse paddock and was a 1 minute walk to
the horses stables and toilets facilities.
The horses were stabled due to the current wet weather. They
were in a big barn which they occupied two large and airy
stables and had it all to themselves. There's a tack room
and feed room for your use. We purchased lovely bales of
straw from the farm and took our own hay.
We rode up over Rhosilli Downs the first evening which had
beautiful views of Worms Head and the bay. It was accessed
off the farm with little road work.
The second day we rode to Oxwich Bay on the route Jo had
shown us. Well it was amazing and everything we could have
wished for and more. We even stopped for a cheeky half at
the Oxwich Bay hotel.
When we got back the horses were bathed and had a roll in
the school before they went to chill in the stables. We
caught the local bus to the King Arther hotel which runs
every hour ish and cost us £5 return and had some lovely
food and a pint.
Everyone at Pilton Moor were so friendly and helpful. Our
horses were more settled than they are at home which enabled
us to have a great time.
Thank you guys we will be back next year for sure.

Thank you for the most perfect holiday. The equine
facilities were spot on, lovely big stables all within a
barn, feed room and secure tack room and a lovely school.
Everything worked and was well thought out which made it
a pure joy to indulge in our precious time with our
horses. They loved their 2 acre paddock and did their
best to eat as much as possible. Martin and Jo were so
incredibly helpful, showing us the best rides and filling
us in on all the local information. We stayed in the
Shepherds Hut which was clean, comfortable and so warm
with the wood burner alight. There is the most amazing
riding and the beaches are awesome. This really was a
fantastic holiday and we would love to return. Couldn't
recommend it more highly. Congratulations Martin and Jo
you are superstars. Rachel, Richard, Ardenteggle and

What a fabulous holiday. We stayed in the Lodge with two dogs and our
two horses in the nextdoor field. Everything was perfect (even the weather).
Accommodation was faultless and Jo and Martin always friendly, helpful
and lovely. Martin even fixed our trailer. Beautiful riding not only on the
beach but fab rides inland with great views. We will certainly be back.
Thank you. |

To Jo, Martin & Suzie,
I just wanted to say an enormous thank you, for being so incredibly
accommodating from the moment we arrived as a group of six with our
Horses, until the minute we left, having discovered in torrential rain, that our
tent wasn't waterproof, without hesitation you allowed us to move in &
takeover the barn & provide us with unlimited wood & the use of your fire
pit to keep us warm and dry, Suzie took us on a hack in torrential wind &
rain, only to have to walk back, nothing was too much trouble.
Your paddocks and stables for the Horses were superb and
enormous, many facities from fridge to kettle, a lift to the pub too!
You simply could not have done anymore for us, I have never met such
genuine accommodating People, the weather was not on our side for two
days, however, we will be returning for sure next year & have told many
Friends what a fabulous weekend we all had, the scenery on our ride was
simply stunning too, we all very much look forward to returning again next
year if we are allowed!!
Best regards and once again, thank you so much for making it such a
fabulous experience for both riders and Horses.

Absolutely fantastic! Brought two horses and our caravan. Rode on the
beach most days, but arena and stable facilities are second to none. Jo
and Martin are lovely hosts and nothing is too much trouble. Took the initial
guided ride with Sue who is a scream! Martin kept my husband entertained
with tractor rides and man toys. Simply perfect! Thank you for a fab holiday

I wanted to let Martin and Jo know what a wonderful
holiday me and sarah had with you at Pilton Moor Stables.
We had the best 4 days of riding over amazing tracks ever
on record. To say you made us welcome was an
understatement, from the start to the finish nothing was
too much trouble, the horse were in the best paddocks,
the stables were immaculate at all times, and you were
there for us 24/7 we cannot thank you enough and hope to
see you real soon, thank you from the both of us. xxxxxx

On behalf of the group I would just like to say
what a fantastic weekend we all had. We were made
to feel so welcome, nothing was to much trouble
and the facilities were great. The riding and
views were spectacular some of the best I've ever
seen and all the horses were so relaxed all
weekend. We will definitely be back and are
currently in the process of planning our next
visit in a few months 😊 |

*** Amazing experience // Highly recommended ***
The Y cwtch was a perfect weekend spot for the both of us and our dog
Rowan! We enjoyed amazing weather, the fire pit outside in the evening and
the in door log burner in to the night. There was everything you'd need
including plates/ cutlery/ glasses / a lantern/ cozy bed with linen. We were
greeted with a lovely basket of breakfast in the morning and felt really looked
after. Will certainly aim to come back for longer next time - thanks so much
for offering such a great holiday x |

We stayed in the Shepherds hut on October 17th 2015, the whole
experience was just perfect, we took our little dog and ate in the Kings
Head early evening before returning to the shepherds hut to light the fires
and enjoyed a few drinks sat outside, Martin was so helpful on our arrival
and gave us tips on lighting the fires and places to visit, we had a beautiful
Sunday lunch at the oxwich bay hotel after leaving and highly recommend
that too as have a dog friendly area, I will be recommending this
experience to all my friends and will definitely be back :-) x |

Just had another lovely stay at Pilton Moor stables. Came without the horse this time to enjoy some of the things I can't do on horseback. I walked & scrambled out to the end of The Worms Head and enjoyed stunning views across Rhossilli before having a swim at Fall Bay. The Gower is truly stunning in Autumn, & as ever Jo & Martin made me very welcome. I hope to return before too long - thank you xx |

We spent a wonderful night in the beautifully decorated cosy Shepherds Hut last week. Enjoying sitting outside next to the fire pit during the evening. Dear Jo & Martin
Thanks for yet another fabulous stay with our horses. As ever we were made very welcome. The shepherds huts are really well appointed and comfortable, and are really cosy at night with the little log burner inside going. The stable block is smart with good quality bedding and mucking out equipment provided. The location of the stables is excellent and we enjoyed several rides with different routes, each with spectacular views over the hills and sea, as well as taking our horses on the vast sandy beaches. A really relaxing and invigorating experience, and we and our horses all returned with a sparkle in all our eyes. Looking forward to visiting again in future - Emma & Emma x |

I just wanted to say thank you for a really wonderful couple of days. Having never taken my horse on holiday before I was quite anxious about the accommodation for me and her, riding facilities etc but you both couldn't have made us feel more at ease. From the well maintained paddocks and school to taking time to explain and show us the riding routes Jo and Martin really made us feel at home. I can't recommend Pilton Moor Stables highly enough and sitting round a fire in front of our shepherds hut in the evening was the cherry on the cake |

Jo and Martin are the salt of the earth, I have visited on many occasions and right now my daughter is holidaying here with her horses and a friend. The facilities are great for horses, humans and dogs. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. The surroundings.......well, if you wish to holiday in the bright lights and big city this is not the place for you......If you want to see the stars at night, enjoy walking/riding and want peace & tranquillity with stunning, unspoilt, natural countryside and the benefit of beaches within walking distance or a short drive, this is a place you really should visit! Thank you Jo & Martin for looking after Frankie, Tiggy & the horses. xxx |

After spending one night in a Shepherds hut in April we
vowed to return, and we did in June for longer this time. We
took an old camping frying pan and a pot with us that we
could use on/over the open fire which was such a bonus as we
cooked all our meals out of doors on the open fire. We did
take a wonderful lamb casserole with us from the freezer and
simply warmed it up, but it was 'outdoors cooking' and
brilliant, we also did bacon and egg in the frying pan for
breakfast one morning, hard to beat ! We had three days
there, two very sunny days and one very rainy day, but to be
snuggled up in the Shepherds Hut on a rainy day was quite
cozy, no mobile signal, no internet, just good old
newspapers and magazines. Walking was superb, we walked from
the Hut down to Mewslade and back to Rhosilli village and up
onto the Rhosilli Down, the views from which are truly
magnificent (a genuine 'bucket list' contender), we could
see Tenby, Llanelli, all of Gower, Swansea and on to Port
Talbot, we could see Exmoor across the Bristol Channel(thank
you Martin for the route). We also had a wonderful close
encounters with the nesting barn owls. We met a lady and her
daughter who has brought their two horses for a holiday and
all four were having the time of their lives, Pilton Moor
has certainly not seen the last of us. |

At Pilton Moor in April this year we had our very first
experience of Shepherd's Hut accommodation. It was so
brilliant that we have already booked up again for longer in
June. Comfy, cosy and very tastefully decorated and
furnished and thoughtfully equipped. It is an excellent base
for walking on a particularly stunning part of the beautiful
Gower Coast.Go prepared and have wonderful time, we are
telling all friends and family about it. |

Hi
My Wife, 16 week old daughter and I have just returned from a week at the cottage, it rained pretty much every day but what do you expect for Wales in November.
The cottage has an ideal location, secluded but within walking distance of the beach and village.
The cottage itself is spacious for 4 adults (Grandparents paying a visit one evening) and a child, has a great kitchen and cosy lounge area.
We are looking to book up a week for next summer!

We recently stayed for 2 nights in the Shepherds Hut - and just loved it! Although the evening was very misty we cooked over the outside fire, had a cosy night sleep & enjoyed the breakfast that was delivered to the hut the next morning by Martin. Before the weather turned wet & windy, we(thankfully) moved onto Little Hill End, which we loved as well. Thank you the accommodation was excellent! |

Arrived at Pilton Moor to a lovely warm welcome from Jo. Settled horses in
to their beautiful fence and rail paddocks and were taken on a tour of our
first riding route to make sure we didn\'t get lost. Given maps and great
instructions of rides. Nothing was too much trouble for either Jo or Martin.
The nicest hosts I\'ve ever met anywhere.
Galloped along the best beach in the uk, crossed moors, mingled with wild
ponies and enjoyed lovely pub food en route.
Can\'t recommend this wonderful place Pilton Moor Stables highly enough. |

Absolutely magical stay at the hut, arriving in the pouring rain to a cosy beautifully decorated little shepherds hut was the ticket! In can highly recommend the Shepherds Hut and Horsey B and
B. I took my horse for his first ever holiday \'away from
home\' and received an excellent welcome. He had a lovely
field directly outside the owners home (good for keeping an
eye on him!) and my husband and I stayed in the Shepherds
hut. Cosy, comfy and relaxing! The hacking was amazing and
we were given so much advice on where was best to go for
beach/views etc. Highly recommended! We\'ll be back! |

A very friendly welcome awaits... We thoroughly enjoyed our time staying in the Shepherd\'s Hut. The incredible attention to detail creates a unique, cosy and comfortable retreat - a must for anyone looking for the ultimate escape or something out of the ordinary. We simply fell in love with the hut and its surroundings; having the lovely horses right outside our door was the icing on the cake! The morning\'s hamper was a lovely touch and we cannot wait to return. I also stayed in Little Hill End Barn some years ago, which was another wonderful experience. I cannot recommend highly enough! We had a wonderful weekend at Pilton Moor Stables. We brought 2 ponies
who stayed in a lovely paddock and we camped ourselves. The yard and all

knowledge of local rides, local pubs and even basic farriery! A fantastic place

I am a returning customer and have just had another delightful weekend at Pilton Moor stables. We were made so welcome and Jo and Martin could not have been more caring about us and the horses. This time we took the horses to Langennith beach and also on a day ride across to Llanmadoc hill (with a stop at the Britannia pub!). The views from the hills were absolutely spectacular and the beach is brilliant both for a good gallop and taking the horses for a paddle in the sea. I can\'t reccommend this place highly enough. Thanks & we hope to come back next year for another seaside holiday! |

Phew!! Breathtaking views, superb facilities for both equines and humans. Jo, Martin and all the ladies and not forgetting Will and Louise - we were all made to feel \"home\" for our long planned holiday Sabine from Germany,Jackie and Hilary from Horley and myself Lyn from Buckinghamshire. Our wonderful coloured horses all settled in instantly, paddocks and grazing could not have been improved on, fencing was excellent. We had no use for the stables but would have jumped right in there if needed they to were clean, light, airy and huge!!! Horsey heaven doesnt get any better than this. The cottage Jo was simply divine we spent hours admiring each room. (And of course enjoying our wine and cider) Great food was had at the local pubs and we were spoilt for things to do when not riding. Our 4 horses Heidi, Laurel, Frankie and Alamo excelled themselves for their first time ever being together on our long rides. The moors just took our breath away and seeing the wild ponies just enhanced the whole experience. But, nothing can commit to the feeling of one riding your own horses through the \"white horses\" on the beach of Rhossili, that truly has to be the most fantastic horse moment of my life and I know I speak for my companions our faces I do believe told the story and the joy in our horses eyes and feet made it even more special. So, Jo Martin you will be seeing us all again thats for sure and I have a feeling next time it really will be like \"COMING HOME\". You both made our stay so perfect and relaxing with stories and laughter and to embrace us as part of your family with Dad,daughters and Mouse (hopefully progressing still to wellness)and all your lovely fourfooters, can I thank you again for making a childhood dream since the age of 7 years become a \"DREAM COME TRUE\". Special hugs and love and thanks worth every single penny and anyone even with a small thought in your mind of shall I or not - Definitely a YES you will not be wishing for anything more at this fine establishment of caring and knowledgable horseman/women to make your holiday also a Dream Come True.See you all in 2011 - thats if you have any spaces left!!! Hi,
We have just got back from a perfect weekend. Jo, Martin and Cericould not have made us feel more welcome . They did everything they could to make sure that wehad a lovely time - and we did. The riding is simply beautiful , and the views are breath-taking. Would highly recommend an escort and Ceri was reallyeasy to get along with - as well as being a great gate opener.Worth remembering to take some 20ps for the showers - we got caught out on the first day. We will be back - and thank you for a simply wonderful break. |

It was absolutely perfect. The landscape and the hut are unbelievable. Everything was really nice inside the hut,the bed, the fire place, the clours, the horses, etc etc..., and of course the breakfast in the wooden basket. We will definitely come back in the summer time for either the hut or camping there in the field. I can say that it was my our best and relaxing holiday there. Thanks Jo and Markus :-) |

Well what can we say!!! We had an amazng time, our trips to your stables are becoming the thing of legend in our area and alot of enquries we have from new customers are keen to know when the next trip s going to be!. Trailored to the lanes near Oxwich bay and had a wonderful beach ride whle some of the others went to Rhossili, second day Port Eynon was a lovely easy hack from the campsite.
Really words cannot fully describe the AMAZING breakfast put on by Jo, for the gutzy amongst us I dont mide saying it s the breakfast that is as much of the attraction as the riding.
Not to be outdone, Martin and his amazing battery charger!!! for all our flat batteries and generally beng stand in emergency \'Dad\'.
Brace yourself we are plannng 1 if not 2 more trips before year end. xx |

We (a group of 7 friends) brought our horses to Pilton Moor Stables in September 2009. We had a wonderful time and could not fault anything! It\'s defo worth getting Ceri to show you they way to the Beach if you are a first timer and if you camp, like we did Jo and Suzi make a killer breakfast!! Thanks all, we will be back! :-) |

We stayed in the Shepherd\'s hut for 2 nights over the summer. We were generally very lucky with the weather although even when there was an occasional downpour it was very cosy and warm inside. The interior is really well thought out, theviews and surrounding countryside is stunning and you get a lovely hamper of breakfast goodies and a rechargeable lantern delivered to your door each morning. We will definately be back! |

I could rave about the stunning views, carpets of heather and foaming waves on the beach, or of safe off road riding and gulps of pure sea air. I could also compliment the facitilties -Clover\'s lush green paddock and an unfloodable menage. The real memorable part of this holiday however, were the people. Three cheers for Jo and Martin- the absolute salt of the earth. They were always ready with encouragement, humble advice and help(and a cup of tea!)And Ceri and Mouse - what a pair! We tucked in behind Mouse\'s bum and off we went. Calm, careful, kind, patient and honest - both horse and rider.
We towed my fiesty mare for 5 hours for the first time to get there. We were nervous and it took considerable courage for us to make the effort, but we were all so glad we did.Clover took it all in her stride and behaved herself.I would encourage anyone to do the same. The rest of my family cycled, surfed and relaxed when I was riding so it was an excellent family holiday, despite the rain.
Thank you for giving me confidence and making me feel good about myself and my horse. I wish I could bottle the experience and bring it home. |

We stayed in the Shepherd\'s hut for two nights. It was absolutely fabulous. The hut itself is so well thought about with lovely decor and much attention given to all the finer details. We had a lovely breakfast each morning at 8am on the dot and nothing was too much for our hosts. This experience was wonderful and we would reccomend it to anybody who is looking for a quiet and peacful get away. We will be back!!

We brought my daughter\'s pony for B&B and rented the shepherds hut for a week in mid August this year and we couldn\'t have had a better holiday. We loved the accommodation and its location was idyllic. The breakfast provided by Jo and Martin in a hamper outside our door was like opening a Christmas stocking each morning. It was great to light the woodburner just to be able to dry off when the weather was wet but I imagine it would be very cosy in colder parts of the year.Jo, Martin & Ceri really put themselves out to make our stay enjoyable.I would recommend the stables and yard which has fantastic facilities and the shepherds hut, not only for its location on Gower but also because it made a holiday with a difference. Would love to come back again.Thank you. |

We have only just come to ground from being on such a high from our short break with you!We all had a fantastic time - great riding, top information from yourselves, everyone being so helpful. We have visited the Gower often without the horses and were always envious of riders we saw - we couldn\'t believe that we were actually there - riding on the beach! It was a dream fufilled and one we hope to make an annual event.
Our stay at Pilton Moor was fabulous, without hassle or concern. As with the majority of horse owners our main concerns are for our horses - but I can recommend your stables 100%.The paddocks spotless from manure, beautifully post & railed fenced, a good size and shape on level pasture with a good covering of grass. We loved the fact we could stay in our trailers next to the field to keep an eye on them!It was like pony club camp all over again. With better facilities and friendlier people! We were particularly grateful of the powerful hot shower loosening all our tight muscles, the kind offer of a electric kettle for a cuppa and most of all Martin who was hassled for hammers, tape, air for the tyres - thank you!
Our only regret is that we couldn\'t stay longer.
Many thanks - we hope it wont be long until we see you again.

Apparently we are the first carriage drivers Jo & Martin have had to stay. Ideal safe stabling with rubber flooring; secure yard for horsebox. Driving routes start & finish on local roads (which suited us) but following a few phone calls from our hosts, keys for locked gates were made available for a wonderful drive on National Trust land to Worms Head and with further help from Jo & Martin, a bridleway track from Llanddewi to Rhossilli Down. Many horse-friendly pubs in the area, all highlighted by our hosts, who made us most welcomed and went out of their way to help us. |

This couldn\'t be more perfect - good access by road with a trailer/lorry and then easy parking when you arrive; excellent facilities in the tack room and kitchen; safe and tidy turn-out paddocks very close by; sheltered grooming and tack-up shed; fabulous stables if you need them; and best of all some of the most incredible riding you\'ll ever experience right on the doorstep! Jo, Martin and Ceri were so helpful and informative - I managed to forget my bridle and Jo immediately saved the day by loaning me one; what an angel! I would thoroughly recommend starting off with an escort from Ceri who pointed out memorable landmarks and gave clear directions to lots of great rides, and was excellent company too. Thoroughly recommended - Thank you! |

this was my best ever holiday so far thanks to pilton moor stables, i recommend it to anyone who is looking for a fun exiting and amazing experience. this has been the best holiday in my whole life and we are planning to go back next year, and i still cant wait despite only just getting back today. thank you to everyone at pilton moor stables for making my stay really fun! the beaches around are really amazing and great for flat out gallops that go on for ever and the hack to the beach is also brilliant and really fun and give an amazing experience. i also think that the ride to the beach and then back to the pub for a drink was a great ride. the views from over the moor/really big hill is great as it looks over the beach. i really do recommend pilton moor stables to anyone who owns a horse!see you next year!xxx |

We held our adults’ riding weekend at Pilton Moor and had a fantastic few days. The horses’ accommodation was far better than ours with a choice of large stables or post and rail paddocks with good grass while we slept in the trailers! We did however have a spacious barn to shelter from the rain and hold our barbecue and a lovely clean shower that was very welcome after a long day in the saddle. It’s ideal for riding clubs or large parties as there was plenty of room on the yard to park our 12 trailers and get our 16 horses ready. It goes without saying that the riding was incredible and the views spectacular, some of the best riding I’ve experienced. Jo and Martin were always incredibly friendly and helpful, going well beyond the call of duty with the kettle on for when we got back from our 5 hour ride and a lift to the local pub for us. Thanks also to Ceri for being such a knowledgeable and informative guide – we would have been literally lost without you! |
